My passion is implementing philosophy sessions for the under-10s, but I've also appeared on panels and led staff INSETs on subjects from adaptive teaching to character education

Character education:
Epsom College
This Study Day explored the principles of character education: the personal development of a child beyond the education they receive in school. I joined a panel of experts looking at a set of key characteristics and values such as resilience, honesty, motivation and humility. My section of the day looked at the younger age group.

Philosophy for year two:
Fulham Prep
“Sometimes the life you have is better than the life that you think you want,” said Alexander, aged 7, during a philosophy class.
This is the sort of thinking that stops the class and teacher in their tracks; the adults present took astonished note to share with their colleagues and family. The power of KS1 Philosophy.

Adaptive teaching:
Donhead Prep
This fresh and exciting way to view teaching involves continuous observation, assessment and adaptation to tailor the learning experience to each individual child. Empowering teachers to deviate from the plan when they need to and "ad lib" to ensure engagement for all.
